Introduction to Public Speaking and Argumentation (IPSA)

For students entering grades 3-8 as of this Fall. This program is geared towards first-time speech and debaters entering grades 3-6, or students entering grades 7-8 who have struggled with public speaking and related soft skills. Coaches will teach students about the basics of public speaking and argumentation. Students will work on writing original speeches, interpreting the work of others, and delivery skills. They will also practice structuring arguments and making logical links between claims. The morning will be focused on speech while the afternoons will focus on debate. Culminates in a mini-tournament on Friday.
